Bridging the Gap Between Education and Experience

Participating in the New Business Challenge after my undergraduate studies helped me build a stronger CV and sharpen essential soft skills. It directly contributed to landing a job opportunity that took me to Nigeria, where I gained valuable international work experience. Being part of a cross-cultural team pushed me to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and think more strategically. That experience deepened my interest in solving real-world problems through collaboration and innovation. 

After graduating from university in 2015, I had the chance to travel abroad for an internship at a partner university. That experience strengthened my inner conviction and opened doors I hadn’t imagined. Although my degree was in Geological Engineering, my supervisor encouraged me to explore new disciplines—and that exposure changed everything. Today, I work with an international company, thanks in part to the foundation laid during my internship.

Visiting Kigali this year was more than a trip. Beyond the work environment, engaging with the Rwandan culture - its warmth, discipline, and deep sense of national pride - challenged me to think differently about leadership and service. That experience didn't just broaden my worldview; it reignited my passion for building scalable, people- centered solutions back home. Kigali taught me that progress isn't accidental - it's designed.
